What motivated the Rebbe? What drove his unceasing labor and unprecedented achievements?

The purpose of this commemoration is not just to inflict a sad period upon ourselves, but rather that we should be reminded and inspired to do all we can to lessen, and eventually remove altogether, the cause which brought about the sad events which we are now commemorating.

I received your letter in which you ask the question "if a soul has come back to earth several times to complete its duty here, when Messiah comes in which form will the soul come back?"

The Rebbe explains that best way to hasten the fulfillment of G-d’s promise “to rebuild Jerusalem” is by removing the causes which brought about its initial destruction.
