Urgent Help Before Yom tov

An Urgent Call for Action From  Levi Raichik and Zvi Boyarsky

Several families in our Los Angeles community are facing situations that simply cannot wait.

A family with five children is facing eviction within days, with the terrifying possibility of having nowhere to bring their children home.

Another family with six children is struggling to put food on the table and cover basic necessities. They are doing everything they can, but they have reached a point where they simply cannot keep up with their most basic expenses.

And one family is facing an especially painful reality: the mother is battling cancer, while the father has almost no teeth left and is struggling to manage basic expenses and provide for his family.

These are not luxuries or wants. These families are struggling with food, shelter, medical needs, and basic dignity.

We are asking our community to come together to raise $40,000 to provide immediate and meaningful relief to these families, as well as other families in our community facing urgent and serious needs.

Our goal is to make sure that the funds raised can reach those who need them most, including families whose situations may not be mentioned here but who are also struggling with basic necessities.

We have only a short window to help. They need us now.

Please open your heart and help us give these families some relief, dignity, and hope when they need it most.

Every donation can make an immediate difference.

Message from Mrs. Litvin

When a child loses a parent, they often feel like they’ve lost their whole world.

Links Family helps them pick up the pieces and continue to grow and thrive.

It doesn’t happen on its own though. It takes a lot to make these services happen, and they need our help.

There are over 70 Yesomim in LA who lost a father or a mother.

Links Family is there for them on a daily basis:

Therapy referrals, Yom Tov gift cards, support groups, Shabbatons, chassan/kallah services, and pro bono legal and financial guidance are just some of the amazing programs this organization runs.

In addition, there are in-person events throughout the year that provide the children with tremendous chizuk, connections to other kids who lost a parent, and a sense of normalcy.

Donate today and show grieving children they haven’t been forgotten.

May the Ribono shel Olam, the Avi yesomim, repay you keifel kiflayim.

Membership Drive 5787

Elul, 5786

Dear Congregant,

Boruch Hashem, our shul is growing and active with tefillos, shiurim, children’s programs, and community events. But keeping the shul running comes with many expenses—mortgage, security, maintenance, utilities, insurance, children’s programs, and the Rabbi’s salary.

Most of these costs are covered by membership dues and Yom Tov seats. We therefore ask that everyone who benefits from the shul—whether on Shabbos, weekdays, shiurim, or children’s programs—please become a paying member.

Membership Levels:

  • Family (includes Yom Tov seats): $1,500 ($125/month)

  • Single (includes Yom Tov seats): $700 ($60/month)

  • Associate: $600 ($50/month)

Payments can be made online at www.chabadofla.com/donate. You can also set up easy monthly payments. Checks should be marked “membership” and given to Levi Raichik, Yisroel Meir Munitz, or David Kaufman, or placed in the pushkas at the shul entrances.

Your participation is what keeps our shul strong. Please join now and help us continue to grow.

With thanks,
The Volunteer Shul Operating Committee

Panim

As was Rabbi Raichik’s yearly custom to bring the Panim of the Los Angeles community to the Rebbe, The Rov will be leaving to the Ohel this Monday evening (25 Elul/Sep 7), bringing along the Panim of our community.

If you would like to send a pan with him, your can either give it to the Rov in shul, put it in his mailbox (345 N Detroit) or it can be left in the rov's shtender in an envelope that says pan on it.

Panim must be dropped off by Monday 7 pm.

Rabbi Raichik will not be reading your panim, rather will bl"n try to tear each one as the custom is.

Wishing you and your family a good and healthy year!

What are you doing with your old fridge?

A large family with  young children in our community needs a large fridge. Their fridge went out and they are living out of an ice chest

If you are buying a new fridge and have an old one,
please reach out to to Levi Raichik
