I was just walking home from shul, Ahavas Israel, just after 8pm, Motzi Shabbas September 24th. I was walking south on Formosa almost to the corner of Clinton when a black man, about 25 years old ,jumped around the corner and pointed a gun at me. There is a high hedge on the north east corner so the lighting is very bad, and I did not see him until he was about 5 feet away with a gun in my face. He demanded my wallet, cell phone and money. I was still shabbasdich and was not even carrying a key and told him as such. He patted me down and ran away.
He is medium complexion, about 5'8", with short hair. Dark long sleeve shirt, and looks like jeans. His pants were worn normal and no gang look or signs. I have worked in ghetto areas and this looked like a normal black 20 something guy. He did not act like he was on drugs.
I have walked past this corner dozens if not HUNDREDS of times at night. Please everyone be careful
Sincerely
